Plates Magazine
I plan and design the entirety of Plates magazine cover to cover; from font selection colour palette, cover sign to spot illustrations. Straying from the minimalist style and overuse of white space (a concept evident in many independent magazines over the past decade) each spread is meant to inspire readers to go beyond the margins. Each issue bears at least one ‘Easter egg’ in reference to a previous issue. The hidden narratives amongst the brush lines is meant to reward a reader who revisits the magazine from time to time.
Additional previews of editorial spreads can be viewed in their respective issues of Plates magazine: Vol.1: Rice, Vol.2: Durian, Vol.3: Water and Vol.4: Seeds
